bobby the only thing I can say is your mixing skills are very strong... not sure about the composition tho... the bassline seemed out of key and i was not able to really vibe to that drum pattern... Jimmy, nothing over-the-top but very solid and easily better here IMO.
Thanks I appreciate the feedback. The bass line may have been out of key. This is one of my older beats. I think it was the only one I had with somewhat of a hook. I've recently learned more about composition and music theory since then. I recently voted on a battle you were in and the arrangement was very good. Any suggestions on how making the composition better?
tune the bassline, redo the drum pattern. also not sure if those background oohs are in key either.... there's a lot.... honestly, if it were me, i would scrap it and move on to the next... and in this arena, you always wanna bring your best. you never know who you gonna go up against as you can see.
Yea I didn't plan to go back and fix/change it. I just wanted to see if you had any suggestions that I could use for future beats. I like to be able to go back and see my growth. You're right though I didn't know who I would go against but that didn't matter to me as much. I view each opportunity as a chance for me to get better as a producer.
