9Went with Jokey on this. I really dig the early to mid 90s boom bap vibe, sample was fire, mix was most definitely fire. Clinton Place, beat was too basic for me. That repetitive lead synth was distracting to me, maybe it is too loud perhaps, and would sound better pushed down in the mix instead of it taking center stage. Also, it sounds dry, and could use some kind of reverb or delay to spice it up a bit. Maybe a chorusing effect perhaps? Due to the imbalance of instruments, I feel the mix was off. Please take this constructively, as I am not hating, I really like your beats, but this one is not it to me. Try my advice, and then battle this one again, I bet it will do better. Make sure the drums, and bass take center stage, and synths like this are heard but not overpowering. So it is not really a bad beat, but an incomplete one in my opinion, and you don't need to add anything, just get a little creative with the effects, to help the sounds have more space, and vibe. Good battle otherwise. Good luck to both!

I usually am very direct with what I say, and I know many people can be in their "feelings" and misunderstand what I mean. So, either take it constructively as it was intended, or be butthurt about it, and keep making the same mistakes, at the end of the day it doesn't affect me one bit. Not every beat you make is fire, and neither are mine.
