this was really tough to judge. both had nice mixes and arrangements so it came down to the composition for me. Jayree had a nice vibe but I wasn't feeling that bass selection; I felt like you could have used more of a short 808 or if you're going to go synth bass, food something that had more of a juno type feel. I just don't think that the 303 type basses are good for urban club. Bob, I like the melody a lot And the mix was definitely on point but I wasn't feeling the sound selection overall. sounded like a bunch of outdated synth sounds. Plus you could use a lot more low end in this track as well.
I was told last night by my homie from Detroit and he wants to buy this one. But also he said it's not club. It's Detroit trap. I didn't know that. The bass is Detroit. That's why he loved it. He showed me a beat that was exactly the same type and had that bass. So I think I just have it in wrong category for this.
idk nothing about Detroit trap so he might be right. like I said, I did like it, just wasn't feeling the bass
