Being a social introvert most my life growing up, music was a tool from which allowed me simply just to connect with the artists I heard. I kept everything inside. Even my music. In fact, it took several years before anybody would even know that i played music. I quietly built up my skills every day writing songs, learning the instruments, recording - for the pure thrill, desire, and the general sense of accomplishment. But mostly just to pretend what it might be like to be in the shoes of my heroes.
While all my friends were going to parties, Friday night football games, even prom... I stayed at home in my studio by myself. And I don't regret a thing. I’m sure my parents probably thought something was deeply wrong with me. But in all actuality I’ve had this burning desire inside me to be great. Something that they - or everyone - would ever understand.
Today, I'm a 30 year old with around 3,000 songs written maybe 5,000 produced and hardly anyone but myself has heard any of it. And it’s like knowing a special secret that nobody else knows about. I am just now finding the time to getting around to sharing it with the world. There is hardly any sense in holding on to it any longer.
